The 2026 ADEA Fall Meetings—Elevating Vision, Navigating Uncertainty: Preparing a Future-ready Oral Health Workforce—brings together oral health education leaders, faculty, staff, administrators, students, residents, fellows and partners to elevate our shared vision for oral health education in an era of accelerated uncertainty.
Academic dentistry and oral health leaders are navigating myriad interconnected issues and challenges shaped by rising overhead and educational costs, access to affordable health care, rapid technological change, evolving accreditation requirements, social determinants of health, increasing regulatory burdens, workforce shortages, geopolitical vulnerabilities, economic and market volatility and shifting sociocultural dynamics. To succeed, institutions, schools and programs must do more than adapt—they must reimagine strategies and develop the foresight, organizational capacity and leadership capabilities to thrive amid ambiguity and constant change. It is imperative that oral health education develop a new paradigm that approaches uncertainty not as a threat, but a catalyst for spurring innovation and equipping graduates to meet the health care needs of all communities.
The ADEA Board of Directors is proactively adopting initiatives to promote future-based thinking that aligns with ADEA’s strategic priorities and resources to ensure that we are positioned to boldly shape the oral workforce of today—and tomorrow. The creation of these initiatives anchors ADEA as an ongoing indispensable resource in support of our members, the health professions and the communities we serve. Two critical groups—the ADEA Strategic Vision 2035 Task Force and the ADEA Task Force on Envisioning and Transforming the Future of Oral Health and Education—provide essential recommendations to ADEA leadership to ensure that the Association and our members are prepared to navigate future uncertainty and change. A more thorough discussion of both task forces will be shared at the 2026 ADEA Fall Meetings Joint Opening Plenary Session.
All of the 2026 ADEA Fall Meetings sessions are strategically designed to explore the major uncertainties shaping our communities, oral health education and the broader health care environment. Through presentations, moderated interviews, facilitated panel discussions, small-group and scenario-based exercises, participants will explore plausible futures for oral health education and assess implications for the current and future oral health workforce, our members, the communities we serve and the oral health professions. Participants will identify strategic priorities, durable capabilities and leadership choices to ensure ADEA and the oral health education community continues to thrive in this uncertain and rapidly changing environment.
Through interactive sessions and vibrant discussions with colleagues across dental education, we will explore how artificial intelligence (AI) and related best practices are shaping oral health learning and impacting curriculum design and student assessment will be an integral part of the 2026 ADEA Fall Meetings. As we develop new vocabulary and resources for leveraging AI to innovate in an uncertain world, we will also reinforce key ethical considerations and the importance of embracing and teaching human-centered values as crucial components in preparing a future-ready oral health workforce.
Learning Objectives
By the close of the 2026 ADEA Fall Meetings, participants will be able to:
- Analyze major trends and uncertainties shaping oral health education to determine key implications for learners, faculty, and institutional, school and program strategy.
- Evaluate plausible future scenarios to prioritize strategies and partnerships that facilitate the preparation and graduation of an inclusive, resilient oral health workforce across multiple futures.
- Design future-informed actions that integrate responsible AI and other emerging technologies with curriculum, assessment, educator development and learner success.
Educational Methods: All sessions will incorporate lecture and discussion teaching methods.

Registration Information
The deadline for online registration is Friday, Sept. 18. After this date, registrations will only be taken on site.
Registration fees for this conference are based on individual ADEA membership. You must be a current ADEA member to qualify for the member registration rate. If you are not a current ADEA member, the nonmember rate will apply. (Join or renew your ADEA membership at adea.org/join.)
Registration includes all materials, hosted meals, refreshment breaks and receptions. Lodging and travel costs are at the registrant’s expense.
Guest Policy
Guest registration is limited to one adult guest (21 years or older). The registered adult guest may attend any meal functions, offsite activities and/or evening events—provided the guest registration fee has been paid.
Guests are not permitted to attend programming sessions. Individuals under the age of 21 are not permitted at events where alcohol is served.

Registration payments must be received to collect your conference badge on site.
Credit Card Payments
Credit card payments can be made online at adea.org/invoice by entering your customer ID and invoice number. This information can be found in your confirmation email, sent from meetings@adea.org at the time you registered.
Financial disclaimer for credit card payments: ADEA reserves the right to charge the correct amount if it is different from the total payment made at the time of registration.

Cancellations
To receive a refund for your conference registration, you must submit a written cancellation by Friday, Sept. 18 to the Registration Team at meetings@adea.org.
ADEA will issue a refund—minus an individual $75 processing fee—after the meeting’s conclusion. Cancellation requests received after Friday, Sept. 18 are not eligible for refund or credit. Refunds or credits will not be given for failure to attend, late arrival, unattended events or early departure.
Media Policy
Registrants of ADEA events are not permitted to invite media to ADEA events without the express written consent and approval of the ADEA Chief of Staff.

The health, safety and well-being of our attendees, exhibitors, speakers and staff remain our highest priority. We continuously monitor weather conditions and public health developments that could impact the safety of our events.
As a precautionary measure, ADEA reviews guidance, advisories and warnings issued by public health and emergency management authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization, as well as local, state and federal agencies for outbreaks of any infectious diseases, changes in weather conditions or other circumstances that pose a risk to attendees where we may advise against travel or gathering. In such cases, we may implement appropriate event modifications to include postponement or hosting the meeting virtually.

- Rates are available three days before and after the conference, based on availability.

The deadline for making hotel reservations at the group rate is Friday, Sept. 18, or when the group rate rooms sell out—whichever occurs first. After Sept. 18, reservations at the group rate are subject to availability. The room block may be filled before the deadline, so we encourage you to make reservations early.
You are responsible for making your hotel arrangements directly with the property. The meeting registration does not include hotel arrangements, flight, ground transportation or any incidentals related to traveling to the meeting.
Check-in/Check-out Time
Hotel check-in time is 4:00 p.m. or earlier as rooms become available. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.
Cancellations
Please contact the hotel directly if you need to cancel your reservation.
Reservations may be cancelled up to 72 hours prior to the reserved arrival date at no charge. For cancellations made after the time noted, the hotel will retain the room deposit of one night plus applicable taxes.
