Global Collaborations
Since its inception, ADEA has launched both national and global initiatives and collaborated with other associations, organizations and individuals to advance oral health and prepare health care professionals to meet the needs of current and future generations.
These collaborations encompass advocacy actions, convening joint meetings and conferences, creating shared resources and information, and much more.
Working Together
ADEA partners with and supports the Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE), including recent opportunities to present at its annual conference.
The FDI World Dental Federation represents more than 1 million dentists worldwide: its membership comprises specialist groups in 134 countries and 191 national member associations. FDI is dedicated to safeguarding the health of people worldwide through improved prevention, treatment and control of oral diseases.
The World Health Organization is in the process of updating the draft Global Oral Health Action Plan (2023 – 2030). It proposes solutions to strengthen national leadership, enhance oral disease prevention, improve oral health workforce capabilities and scale research. ADEA has long been a promoter of integrated oral health care, and there is considerable research on the topic by ADEA members.
Leaders from ADEA, ADEE and the FDI World Health Organization joined more than 30 African nations in Casablanca, Morocco, in July 2025 to participate in the launch of the African Education Dental Association (AEDA), the continent’s first collaborative association committed to advancing dental education.

2025-26 ADEA Chair of the Board Todd V. Ester, D.D.S., M.A., signs the proclamation recognizing the formation of the African Education Dental Association.
