2023 ADEA Leadership Institute Phase V
2023 ADEA Leadership Institute Phase V
Leveraging AI to Strengthen Leadership and Advance Dental Education
The 2023 Phase V program will begin with the Welcome Reception at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, and conclude with a celebratory dinner on Saturday evening, Oct. 14.
ADEA launched Phase V in 2016 for alumni of the ADEA Leadership Institute. Phase V is an exceptional encounter designed to invigorate leadership development, stretch thinking, actualize potential and rejuvenate the networks and relationships that are hallmarks of the ADEA Leadership Institute. While the theme of Phase V changes from year to year, the program’s core purpose is to engage alumni with ideas and methodologies from different disciplines leading to new leadership insights and practices.
In the 2023 Phase V program, Institute alumni will delve into one of today's most riveting advancements: Artificial Intelligence (AI). From autonomous vehicles navigating bustling city streets to medical diagnostics powered by machine learning, AI has transcended its origins to become an integral part of our daily lives. Higher education stands on the cusp of a new era, where educators and learners alike will engage in an enriched, dynamic and more tailored educational journey through AI. From smart content delivery and adaptive assessment tools to AI-driven student support systems, AI offers opportunities to enhance both the quality and accessibility of dental education.
The rapid growth of AI presents significant leadership challenges. These challenges include ethical issues, workforce disruption, change management associated with the integration of AI and the leader’s competency to understand and use AI effectively. The 2023 ADEA Leadership Institute Phase V program will help leaders embrace AI to foster responsible and planned change and innovation in dental education. Alumni will learn how AI is advancing a variety of fields, including dentistry. In addition, alumni will leave Phase V having strengthened their own skill in using AI tools.
