Institutional Membership categories include:

Active Members


Any dental school granting a D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree as part of an accredited college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico or Canada that has begun instruction of its first class of dental students.

Annual Membership Dues: $26,272

(NOTE: Includes Dean's Conference assessment of $750.) 



Affiliate Members


Any Canadian dental school; academic institution conducting advanced dental education; hospital conducting advanced dental education; U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Public Health Service, Department of Veteran Affairs or comparable Canadian agency; dental hygiene, dental assisting laboratory technology or dental therapy education program; or institution conducting other dental or allied dental education programs that do not fall under the categories of active or provisional membership.

Affiliate members are of the following types:

  1. Canadian dental school that is approved by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada. 
  2. Annual Membership Dues: $2,565 

    [NOTE: Includes Dean's Conference assessment of $750.]


  3. International dental schools not located in the United States or Canada and accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.  
  4. Annual Membership Dues: $908


  5. An academic institution, other than a hospital, conducting an advanced dental education program.
  6. Annual Membership Dues: $3,998


  7. A hospital conducting an advanced dental education program that is not governed by an Institutional or Provisional Member institution. 
  8. Annual Membership Dues: $984


  9. A dental education program of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Public Health Service, or Department of Veterans Affairs or a comparable program of the Canadian government. 

    Annual Membership Dues: $3,922



  10. Programs conducted at the main teaching site of an Institutional or Provisional Member institution, but not under the administrative control of that Institutional or Provisional Member institution.

  11. Programs under the administrative control of an Institutional or Provisional Member institution and conducted away from the main teaching site of that Institutional or Provisional Member institution. Such programs must be an Affiliate Members in order to belong to the ADEA Council of Allied Dental Program Directors.

  12. Annual Membership Dues: $945



Provisional Members


Any developing dental school planning to grant a D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree as part of an accredited college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico or Canada. 

Annual Membership Dues: $26,272

(NOTE: Includes Dean's Conference assessment of $750.)
