1. What drew you to dentistry? 

I love that dentistry provides an intersection between hands-on creativity and health care. It offers the unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on a patient’s health, while also boosting their confidence through their smile.

2. Tell us about one of your “big wins” recently? 

I’ve been getting into cake decorating recently! It’s been so fun to try out new recipes and have a hobby that doubles as a way to decompress after a long day of dental school.

3. In 10 years, the biggest change about dental education (or dentistry) will be … 

In 10 years, the biggest change about dental education will be the integration of more technology into curriculums. From diagnostic imaging to treatment planning, to digitally designed smiles, we are already seeing how technology is able to better equip dentists to create more precise and personalized treatments for their patients. The field of dentistry is constantly evolving, and it's exciting to be able to watch this technological progression in real time as a student.

4. What’s the ultimate comfort meal for you?

My ultimate comfort meal is fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes and mac-and-cheese (specifically my mom’s recipe). I was born and raised in Alabama, so southern food is always my go-to!

5. What’s your favorite vacation spot—and why?

My favorite vacation spot is St. John. My family has been visiting the Virgin Islands since I was young, and St. John is definitely a fan favorite for all of us. My sister and brother-in-law even got married there! As someone who loves the ocean, getting to snorkel the coral reefs is the highlight for me.
