Now Available: The ADEA U.S. Dental Faculty FY 2025 Compensation National Report
ADEA members now have access to the current report detailing dental school faculty compensation. The ADEA U.S. Dental Faculty FY 2025 Compensation National Report for U.S. dental school faculty in fiscal year (FY) 2025 presents data on guaranteed annual salary and total compensation, which consists of salary, benefits and other forms of income. The report also includes compensation data for full- and part-time faculty with at least 50% full-time equivalent (FTE) appointments who hold the rank of professor, associate professor or assistant professor as well as clinical and research faculty.
U.S. dental school faculty can use the report to compare their compensation with national, regional and institutional (public/private) averages by:
- Administrative title/academic rank and highest academic degree, employment status and primary discipline;
- Academic rank, tenure status and Board certification; and
- Academic rank, primary discipline and faculty generalist/specialist designation or clinician status.
The report provides both school‑reported and cost‑of‑living-adjusted data for guaranteed annual salary and total compensation. Sixty-four of the 77 accredited dental schools in the United States (83% response rate) submitted faculty compensation data for FY25.
The report is available for purchase through the ADEA Bookstore, with special pricing for ADEA members. Be sure to explore additional faculty data available on the ADEA Data Portal.
For any questions or comments about these reports, feel free to contact Shiyao Liu, Ph.D., ADEA Senior Director of Higher Education Research, at lius@adea.org.
