Dr. Annette Stelter Honored With West Coast University’s Orange County Campus 2025 Faculty of the Year Award
West Coast University’s (WCU) Annette Stelter, Ed.D., RDH, Assistant Professor, was awarded the 2025 Faculty of the Year for WCU’s Orange County (O.C.) campus.

“This accolade was a surprise as it was not only [dental hygiene] but also the nursing and general education faculty nominations,” said Dr. Stelter. “The executive director, directors from each department and deans cast a vote for the awardee. I am humbled beyond belief, especially since receiving this award in 2021!”
The O.C. Campus Faculty of the Year award recognizes faculty for consistently dynamic, engaging classroom presentations that make complex ideas clear and memorable. Courses are continually refreshed with the latest evidence, and new teaching methods are thoughtfully adopted to keep students actively involved.
Awardees maintain a deeply student-centric approach to guide course design and teaching practices. Graduating seniors frequently name these classes among their favorites while later reflecting on just how much learning and confidence grew through the experience.
Beyond assigned teaching duties, this honoree consistently says yes to additional presentations, special projects and panel invitations while serving with distinction on campus and university committees—bringing the same follow-through and excellence to every responsibility.
