2026 Summer Deans' Institute
The Summer Deans’ Institute is an annual gathering of the deans of U.S. and Canadian dental schools for which ADEA manages the logistical arrangements.
The 2026 Summer Deans’ Institute will take place from Friday, July 31, to Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, at Francis Marion Hotel, Charleston, SC.
Participation is by invitation only.
The deadline for online registration is June 23, 2026. After this date, registrations will only be taken on site.

Registration Information
Registration includes all materials, hosted meals, refreshment breaks and the reception. Lodging and travel costs are at the registrant’s expense.
The deadline for online registration is June 23, 2026. After this date, registrations will only be taken on site.
Attendance at this conference is by invitation only. Please ensure your individual ADEA membership is current by going to adea.org/join.
Guest Policy
The 2026 Summer Deans’ Institute is an interactive experience, and participants are encouraged to attend all meals, receptions and team-building activities.
Guest registration is limited to one adult guest (21 years or older). The registered adult guest may attend any meal functions, offsite activities and/or evening events—provided the guest registration fee has been paid.
Guests are not permitted to attend programming sessions. Individuals under the age of 21 are not permitted at events where alcohol is served
Registration Payments
Registration payments must be received to collect your conference badge on site.
Credit Card Payments
Credit card payments can be made online at adea.org/invoice by entering your customer ID and invoice number. This information can be found in your confirmation email, sent from meetings@adea.org at the time you registered.
Financial disclaimer for credit card payments: ADEA reserves the right to charge the correct amount if it is different from the total payment made at the time of registration.
Check Payments
When paying by check, a copy of your registration confirmation must accompany your payment.

To receive a refund for your conference registration, you must submit a written cancellation by Tuesday, June 23, to the registration team at meetings@adea.org.
ADEA will issue a refund—minus an individual $75 processing fee—after the meeting’s conclusion. Cancellation requests received after June 23 are not eligible for refund or credit. Refunds or credits will not be given for failure to attend, late arrival, unattended events or early departure.

- All rates are per room, per night and are subject to a 14% room tax.
- Tax is subject to change. The rate for each additional person aged 18 years and older in a room will be $10 plus applicable taxes per person, per night.
- The deadline for all hotel reservations is Tuesday, June 23, 11:59 p.m. ET, or when the group rate rooms sell out—whichever occurs first. We encourage you to book early. There is no guarantee of the conference rate or room availability for reservations made after the deadline has passed.
Please note: ADEA is unable to accept or process hotel changes or cancellations.
Hotel reservations can be made online using the online code SDI26 or by calling the Francis Marion Hotel. If you would like to reserve additional nights, you will need to contact Room Reservations directly at (877) 756-2121.
Rooms have not been contracted on any additional nights and are subject to hotel availability at the regular room rate.
You are responsible for making your hotel arrangements directly with the property. The meeting registration fee does not include hotel arrangements, flight, ground transportation or any incidentals related to traveling to the meeting.
Check-in/Check-out Time
Hotel check-in time is 4:00 p.m. or earlier as rooms become available. Check-out time is noon.
Cancellations
Hotel reservations may be cancelled up to seven days prior to your reserved arrival date at no charge. For cancellations made after the time noted, the hotel will retain the room deposit of one night plus applicable taxes.
