Many lawmakers are unaware of the devastating public health issues connected to poor oral health, or how the dental education community is helping to meet the health care needs of Americans across the nation. It is our responsibility to educate them.

Consider these realities: Rural populations continue to suffer from inadequate access to care, yet in the absence of sufficient loan repayment programs, many dental graduates feel pressure to practice in higher income areas to manage their debt. Dental schools and allied dental education programs continue to serve as safety-net clinics for underserved and underinsured patients, yet are severely undercompensated for the services they provide.

ADEA Capitol Hill Day empowers dental, allied dental and advanced dental education faculty, students, residents and fellows to speak directly to their Members of Congress about how the federal government can help address these issues.

Register now for the 2019 ADEA Capitol Hill Day in Washington, DC on April 11. You will connect with your congressional representatives and their staff on topics of critical importance to dental education and to the individuals we serve. Help increase funding for student financial aid and faculty loan repayment programs, dental and craniofacial research, education and training grants, and much more.

Complimentary breakfast will be served.

Who should attend? Anyone committed to strengthening support for dental education, dental and craniofacial research, and better oral health in the United States should register now. Join us and use your voice to elevate these issues and offer legislative solutions.

Dental educators as well as students are encouraged to participate in this important event.
