Prof. Tara Newcomb Receives ADHA Foundation General Research Grant

Tara Newcomb, M.S., RDH, CBDH, was named a recipient of the 2026–2027 American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) Foundation General Research Grant.

Ms. Newcomb is an Associate Professor at the Gene W. Hirschfeld School of Dental Hygiene at Old Dominion University.

Her work is helping advance the future of dental hygiene and strengthen the impact of the oral health profession.

ADHA research grants strive to:

• Develop or expand upon the dental hygiene body of knowledge,
• Promote the public’s oral health by improving dental hygiene education and practice and
• Support the delivery of quality oral health care.
