Dr. Dianne Smallidge Awarded the 2026 Hygienist of the Year by the Maine Dental Association

Dianne Smallidge, Ed.D., M.S.D.H., RDH, was named the 2026 Hygienist of the Year by the Maine Dental Association. The award was presented at the dental association’s recent annual session in Bar Harbor, ME.

Dr. Smallidge’s dedication to dental hygiene education, mentorship and fostering intraprofessional collaboration between dental and dental hygiene students was noted on the University of New England Dental Hygiene program’s Facebook page.

Dr. Smallidge is the Director of the Department of Dental Hygiene at the University of New England Westbrook College of Health Professions and current Chair of the ADEA Council of Allied Dental Program Directors Administrative Board.
