The Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine’s (ELAM) Transformational Leadership Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership that has contributed significantly to cultural transformation. The awardee motivates others to innovate and create change to help grow and shape the future success of women and people underrepresented in medicine and the health sciences, leading to a more just and equitable culture.

“You always have to be knowledgeable and know where your sources are,” said Elizabeth Andrews, D.D.S., M.S., Dean of Western University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine. “You have to know the process … to understand how this patient might be impacted by what I’m doing, no matter what we’re doing.”
