NIDCR Awards Grants Totaling $75 Million for New Practice-Based Initiative

The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), part of the National Institutes of Health, has awarded three grants, totaling $75 million, that establish regional practice-based research networks to investigate with greater scientific rigor everyday issues in the delivery of oral health care.

The University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry has partnered with state dental associations in Nebraska, Wyoming, Kansas, and South Dakota to form a consortium to address oral health access problems of underserved populations in rural areas.

Tom’s of Maine Launches Oral Care Education and Access Program

Tom’s of Maine, a new ADEA corporate member, has launched a new five-year program, Dental Health for All, that addresses the critical issues of access to quality oral care and oral health literacy in America. In partnership with ADEA and thousands of retail stores, public dental clinics, dental professionals, and consumers, the Tom’s program will improve oral health—especially among children—by supporting community-based dental facilities in underserved communities throughout the United States.
