MCPHS Health Professions Schools Engage in Interprofessional Collaboration in Older Adult Outreach Program

MCPHS is a school of health professions. In 2015, a group of faculty representing multiple health professions on the Worcester campus began planning an IPE event that would address the four core competencies set forth for Interprofessional Collaborative Practice.

Stony Brook SDM Expands Access to Care for Schoolchildren Through Department of Health Grant
Many underserved families on Long Island face barriers to health care, including a lack of adequate public transportation. Programs such as the Mobile Dental Clinic enable teams of dental students and professionals from the school to bring oral health care services directly to patients where they are, from homeless shelters to elementary schools. 

NYU College of Dentistry’s Saturday Academy Increases Interest and Diversity in Dentistry
In 2012, two students at NYU College of Dentistry set out to create a pipeline program for underrepresented and low-income high school students to boost their interest in health professions. The program is called Saturday Academy, and a new paper describing a pilot study of the program shows that their efforts are working. 

NIH Awards RSDM $11.7M to Study Opioid Alternatives
RSDM was awarded an $11.7 million grant from the National Institutes of Health for research on the combination of ibuprofen and acetaminophen as an alternative to opioids.
