Carol Lefebvre, D.D.S., M.S., Vice Dean of the Georgia Regents University College of Dental Medicine, has been named the Interim Dean.
Leaders across New Jersey welcomed a new era in higher education July 1, 2013, as the New Jersey Medical and Health Sciences Education Restructuring Act became effective. The Act integrates most of the former University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey into Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, including University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, New Jersey Dental School (UMDNJ).
The dental school is now officially the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. The school’s leadership recommended the new name to reflect that dentistry is a profession founded in biomedical science. The new name more closely aligns with today’s dental education and practice.

The University of Oklahoma (OU) and Delta Dental of Oklahoma have announced a generous gift from Delta Dental of Oklahoma to the OU College of Dentistry. The $3.2 million lead gift, the largest single gift ever to OU, will support significant renovations toward the training of tomorrow’s dental professionals.

ADEA is pleased to announce the ninth annual Call for Nominations for ADEA appointments. Each year ADEA has the opportunity to make appointments to a number of committees, commissions, and task forces within the organization, as well as similar appointments to external groups and organizations.

The William J. Gies Awards for Vision, Innovation, and Achievement (The Gies Awards) are the preeminent recognition of exceptional contributions to and support of oral health and dental education. The Gies Awards are an annual program of the ADEAGies Foundation.

The ADEA Dental Hygiene Centralized Application Service (ADEA DHCAS) simplifies the application process for prospective dental hygiene students by allowing applicants to send in one set of materials and information for multiple dental hygiene programs. The service is available to all individuals applying to participating dental hygiene programs.
