Prepare the new images for the microsite

Create new images and upload them to the Image Gallery in Sitefinity

  • Logo - 547 pixels by 97 pixels
  • Vertical Accordion Images - 1240 pixels by 696 pixels
  • Interstitial Image - 1500 pixels by 470 pixels
  • In the Spotlight thumbnails - 120 pixels by 120 pixels
  • Background Image for the counting number circles (example is called bkgd-circles.png) - 20 pixels by 303 pixels
  • Footer Logo - 521 pixels by 100 pixels

 

Create the new Style Sheet for the new microsite

Go to Content > Stylesheets

a) Edit the stylesheet called Microsite

b) Copy everything in that stylesheet 

c) Paste the copied stylesheet into a text editor

d) Change any colors you’d like and replace the background for the circles reference with the new image you created.  Copy your new stylesheet from the Text editor.

e) Go back to Content > Stylesheets and click the Create a Stylesheet button

f) Name the new stylesheet and paste in your new stylesheet CSS

 

Duplicate the model Microsite Home Page and an interior page

In Pages, find the Microsite Home Page. Duplicate the home page and one interior page from the example Microsite.

1) Title and Properties:

  • Give the new pages the correct Title
  • Choose the correct parent
  • Ok to leave the URL alone – the URL will adjust to the new name and parent
  • Give the page a description (for SEO. And that shows in Google / Bing search results)
  • In Advanced options, allow site search and allow external search engines.
  • Create the page

 

2) Edit the Embed Code widget at the top of each page and replace the logo image with the logo for your new site:

See above for the correct logo dimensions.

 

3) Edit the Navigation Widget. Change the "All pages under particular page..." to point to the new microsite home page.

 

4) Edit any static content blocks and images.

 

5) Edit the Content Block that is holding the Footer Logo. Swap in the new logo image. See above for the correct logo dimensions.

 

6) Find the "Microsite" stylesheet near the bottom of the page.  Edit that widget and replace the Microsite stylesheet with your new one.

 

Duplicate your updated interior page to create other interior pages

In Pages, use your new interior page and duplicate it.

1) Title and Properties:

  • Give the new pages the correct Title
  • Choose the correct parent
  • Ok to leave the URL alone – the URL will adjust to the new name and parent
  • Give the page a description (for SEO. And that shows in Google / Bing search results)
  • Create the page

2) Edit the page

 

Create a new Style Guide for the new microsite.

In Pages > Reference, find the GoDental Style Guide page and duplicate it.

Edit the new Style Guide to change colors and any other items you would like.
