The Dental Assisting National Board, Inc. (DANB) is establishing the Dental Assisting Learning and Education (DALE) Foundation, a separately incorporated nonprofit foundation. The DALE Foundation will benefit the public by advancing dental assistants, promoting dental assistant certification, developing and providing quality supplemental education, and conducting research to support and promote oral health.
The DALE Foundation is seeking nominations for its initial Board of Trustees. The composition will include the current Chair of DANB's Board of Directors, the current Past Chair, another past DANB Board Chair, and six other trustees with expertise in the following: research, education (dental, dental hygiene, dental assisting), electronic learning, dental employer, dental office manager, public health, and corporate interests.
Individuals are invited to nominate themselves or other qualified individuals for consideration to be elected as a Founding Trustee. The DANB Nominating Committee will accept nominations postmarked or received by email or fax before April 30, 2010. Nominations must include a letter of interest from the nominee; current resume or curriculum vitae; a letter of recommendation from an employer, supervisor, coworker, committee or board member of a state or national oral health care organization; and a written response to DANB interview questions, which will be provided to all nominees who meet the April 30 deadline.
