MedEdPORTAL® invites educators to submit a proposal for a scholarly poster around this year’s reception theme, Excelling in Health Education Assessment at the Association for American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Annual Meeting. The proposal should describe a tool that has been developed for assessing competencies in health education. Special consideration will be given to proposals that describe an assessment tool that is novel, timely and presented in a manner that facilitates future implementation by others.
Accepted posters will be displayed at the MedEdPORTAL® Excelling in Health Education Assessment Poster Reception during Learn Serve Lead: The 2013 AAMC Annual Meeting on November 3 at the Philadelphia Marriott Grand in Philadelphia, PA.
To submit a proposal, complete the online submission form. Proposal abstracts are limited to 500 words and must include the following: Poster Title, Background and Description, Methods, Results and Summary Points.
For proposals to be considered for inclusion in the Annual Meeting poster session, authors must also submit their described assessment tool to either MedEdPORTAL® Publications or iCollaborative by September 1. This will ensure all posters contain unique URLs to the assessment tools available for download through MedEdPORTAL®.
- Submit to Publications for formal peer review and publication of your work. Submissions to Publications should include the educational activity from which the assessment tool is derived. In addition, both educational activity and assessment tool are required to have been classroom tested. To identify whether your materials meet the standards, please review the Publication Submission Standards.
- Submit to iCollaborative for the promotion and sharing of your work across institutions without going through the formal peer-review process. To prepare your materials for submission to iCollaborative, please review the iCollaborative Submission Checklist.
Proposals are due September 12 by 7:00 p.m. Eastern.
