Call for Poster Abstracts

Submission Deadline: Dec. 17, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time

The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) and Association for Dental Education in Europe (ADEE) invites submissions for academic posters for inclusion in the 2019 ADEA/ADEE Shaping the Future of Dental Education III: Oral Health From a Global Perspective. Shaping the Future of Dental Education III brings together dental educators from across the globe who are committed to improving oral and overall health.

Posters must be research and academically focused, building upon the foundations set forth by the Shaping the Future III topic areas:

  • Assessment of dental student competencies
  • Interprofessional education
  • Emergent trends in science and technology
  • Global networks for person-centered care

For the abstract you will be required to input the following elements with an overall word count of 300 words in each section, except for the title:

  • Title
  • Aims and objectives
  • Materials and methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

Submissions are housed in the ADEE Abstract Submission System where you will have the option to select any of the four Shaping the Future of Dental Education III focus areas outlined above as the topic for your abstract. If you do not already have an user account, select “Option 4” and carefully follow the online instructions to submit an abstract.

Be sure to retain your ADEE login and password. If your abstract is accepted and you are notified, you will be required to log in and upload the final poster for the poster display system.

You may work on several abstracts on the submission system at a time, however each abstract must be submitted separately and by one person.

Should you encounter difficulties please contact

Posters will be in e-poster format. These are highly interactive electronic posters allowing authors to link to multimedia and a wide variety of content.  While there will be no formal presentation session for posters, they will be incorporated into various elements of the meeting.

Submissions will be evaluated by an editorial panel and members of the individual working group leadership. Posters will be designated as accepted, accepted with modifications or not considered.

The closing date for receipt of poster abstract submissions is Monday, December 17, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time. Inclusion of submissions received after this time is at the discretion of the editorial panel.

Successful applications will be notified of the outcome in early January.

All individuals whose posters are accepted will be expected to register and attend the meeting and actively participate in the meeting activities.

Authors will be expected to construct their e-poster from mid-March to mid-April 2019.

The key contact email used in the poster submission process will be the sole point of contact for that poster. It is imperative you monitor the inbox for email provided as all communication, including invitation links to the display platform, will be shared to that email address.

Submit your poster before the December 16, 2018 deadline.
