Dental Match Registration

ADEA PASS and Match are separate and distinct services. The Match is used by applicants and programs to determine the final placement of applicants into positions after the application and evaluation process is completed. ADEA PASS is administered by the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), while Match is administered by National Matching Services Inc. (NMS).

The Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program (the “Match”) is the mechanism used by some postdoctoral dental education programs to determine the final placement of applicants into positions. The Match provides an orderly process to help applicants obtain positions in the first year of training in postdoctoral programs of their choice, and to help programs obtain applicants of their choice.

Most (but not all) programs that participate in the Match also participate in ADEA PASS. Completing and submitting an application through ADEA PASS will not automatically register you for the Match. Similarly, applicants are not required to complete an ADEA PASS application in order to register for and participate in the Match. To obtain a position at a program that is participating in the Match you must register separately for the Match, which includes agreeing to the Match Applicant Agreement and paying the Match registration fee.

Detailed information about Match is available on the Match web site at www.natmatch.com/dentres.

ADEA PASS and NMS maintain separate customer service centers to provide assistance with their operations.
