What’s Next?

2022 ADEA Allied Dental Program Directors’ Conference

The 2022 ADEA Allied Dental Program Directors’ Conference—the only conference for allied dental program directors, by allied dental program directors—is back in person on June 4-7 in Portland, OR!

We have been tested. We have proven our readiness in the face of the unexpected. We have reached beyond comfort zones to truly embrace change. We have maximized our information exchange to inspire creativity and to lean on one another for hope and unwavering strength.

We know that we cannot stop now. We must continue to rise to the occasion as pillars of our community. We must maintain this momentum as we plan for the future.

But, What’s Next? How do we prepare for the unexpected today as we lead our programs toward tomorrow? This June, we’ll come together to collaborate on What’s Next through:

  • Pecha Kucha presentations
A conference favorite featuring conversations on calibration, managing inappropriate patient sexual behavior, teledentistry, use of simulated patients, video assessment software, and admissions equity.

  • Using mindfulness to address burnout
Burnout is a serious concern for dental team members during education and in practice, now more than ever. Practicing mindfulness can help.

  • Budget management
Allied dental program directors often enter their roles with no formal budget training. Gain tangible takeaways better manage the bottom line.

  • Conflict management
Together, we’ll tackle how to have those most difficult conversations!

  • Allied dental program accreditation tips and tricks
Don’t miss this important session, including by roundtable discussions with experienced program directors.

  • And… are you aware of the new life stage―Emerging Adulthood?
Learn about the implications of this new life stage for education that includes changing career paths at least once in response to identity explorations and issues such as loneliness and other mental health challenges.

We are so excited to be together in person for this robust program!
Join fellow program directors in Portland as we reflect the incredible successes of our programs through these extraordinary times and tackle What’s Next, together.
