In 2025, the ADEAGies Foundation celebrates 75 years! Be a part of this historic milestone as we carry on the legacy of dental education pioneer and advocate Dr. William J. Gies by nominating individuals, institutions or organizations today whose work translates big ideas into bold action. 75 Gies Logo Gies Awardees in this 75th anniversary year are uniquely positioned to propel the work of the foundation through their innovative contributions that advance oral health education and exemplify the vision of Dr. Gies and the ADEAGies Foundation.


The ADEAGies Foundation Gies Awards Celebration honoring the 2024 recipients took place during the 2024 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition in New Orleans, LA.


Nominations for the 2025 Gies Awards is now open!


The awards will be presented at the Gies Awards Celebration during the 2025 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition in National Harbor, MD.



The ADEAGies Foundation Gies Awards highlight the significant contributions of individuals, institutions and public/private partners whose work represents the highest order of Innovation, Achievement, Vision and Leadership.


The awardees’ accomplishments will be widely recognized as contributing to major changes and advancement in dental education.


►The Gies Awards honor one awardee in each of the three categories:

  • Gies Award for Eminence in Innovation
  • Gies Award for Eminence in Achievement
  • Gies Award for Eminence in Vision and Leadership

In each category, awardees can be individuals, institutions or public/private partners who are advancing dental education in the most significant ways.



The ADEAGies Foundation also honors promising junior faculty members whose accomplishments, to date, signal a creative endeavor to improve dental education through individual research, programming and teaching/learning pursuits in two categories:
 
► Two junior faculty awards:

  • ADEAGies Foundation William J. Gies Award for Junior Faculty Achievement in Oral Health Education
  • ADEAGies Foundation William J. Gies Award for Junior Faculty Achievement in Allied Oral Health Education
