She is a former fellow of the Harvard Medical School Academy in Medical Education and a 2024 graduate of the ADEA Leadership Institute. Dr. Ohyama earned her D.D.S. from Tohoku University School of Dentistry in Japan. After graduation, she completed clinical and research training at HSDM, where she obtained both a certificate in general dentistry and an M.M.Sc. degree. She then returned to Japan to pursue a Ph.D. in oral biology from Tokyo University Faculty of Medicine.
