Transportation

Delegates have a number of travel options to Italy and within Brescia upon arrival.

Getting to Brescia

While Brescia has its own local airport serving domestic flights, you will most likely arrive at one of the following four airports:

  • Milan–Malpensa Airport (MXP)
Milan–Malpensa Airport (MXP) is the largest international airport in the Milan area. It provides regular scheduled flights to most worldwide destinations or via the hub networks of the Al Italia network partners. You will easily get connections to U.S., Asian and Middle Eastern carriers. MXP is the furthest recommended airport from Brescia, as travel times to and from Bescia can exceed two hours. Upon arrival, you will have a number of connection options:
    • Train: There is no direct train service from MXP to Brescia, however there is an easy interchange at Milan Centrale. Travel to Milano Centrale (travel time approx. 45 minutes), then take a train toward Venezia S. Lucia, which stops at Brescia central station (travel time approx. 35 minutes). The total travel time can vary from an hour and 45 minutes to almost 3 hours depending on arrival and connection times at Milano Centrale. The cost for train tickets is approximately €25 each way (however will depend on luggage and time of travel).

Taxi: Taxi service operates from MXP, as do contract drivers. The one way journey to Brescia will cost you in the region of €200 and take between one and a half and two hours.

Bus: Multiple operators provide direct service from Milano Centrale to Brescia. Fares are priced starting at €14 each way.

Alternatively you can access the Airshuttlenord direct service. Service operates only four times a day and can cost up to €45 each way depending on time of booking.

  • Milan-Linate Airport (LIN)
Milan-Linate Airport (LIN) is located closer to Brescia, although it is not as well serviced by public transport options and some advance travel planning is recommended. The airport is serviced by all major airlines, in particular Al Italia, British Airways, Air France, KLM, SAS, which provides easy access to U.S. carriers and hubs.
    • Train: There is no direct train service from LIN to Brescia, however there is an easy interchange at Milan Centrale.

Taxi: Taxi services operate from LIN as do contract drivers. The one-way journey to Brescia will cost you in the region of €170 and take approximately one and a half to two hours.

Bus: Multiple operators provide direct service from Milano Centrale to Brescia. Fares are priced starting at €14 each way.

Alternatively you can access the Airshuttlenord direct service. Service operates only four times a day and can cost up to €25 each way depending on time of booking.

  • Milan-Bergamo Airport (BGY) also known as Orio al Serio International Airport
Milan-Bergamo Airport (BGY) is probably the most convenient airport to Brescia, but is termed a low cost carrier airport by European standards. This means that while most European delegates will be able to take direct flights to BGY, delegates from outside of Europe will likely have to transit via another airport to arrive here, and will need to connect to another airline to travel onto Brescia. Bergamo is well served by Ryan Air, WizzAir and many other low cost carriers.
    • Train: The airport does not have a train station, however there are shuttle buses operated by Autostradale that will take you to Bergamo train station (15 minutes), and from there, you can take a train to Brescia.

Bus: There is a direct bus service from Bergamo to Brescia operating 10 times per day. Travel time takes approximately one hour and cost €12.  You will arrive at Bergamo central station.

Taxi: Taxi services operate from BGY. The one-way journey to Brescia will cost you in the region of €90 and take approximately one and a half hours travel time.

  • Verona-Villafranca Airport (VRN)
Verona airport offers a mix of low-cost and standard carriers.
    • Train: The Verona Airport is connected to the Verona train station via a Shuttle/Aerobus service that runs every 20 minutes and is a 10 minute journey.  From there you can catch a train to Brescia that will take approx. 45 minutes, with fares starting at €15.

Taxi: A taxi journey from Verona to Brescia takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes depending on traffic.  Average cost is €100.

  • Prior to booking your flight, we recommend you research your airline's regional hubs as it may give your greater flexibility to arrive at a European hub airport, and then transfer to a low cost carrier for the rest of your journey to Brescia. Please allow sufficient travel time and ensure your booking allows for baggage transfer and other services when booking through low cost carriers, as terms and conditions vary greatly from carrier to carrier.

All airports offer the possibility of booking a shuttle services. If using these services, which can be a good value if you are traveling in a group of 4 or more people, we advise you to research rates in advance of making your booking.
