HEALTH AND SAFETY
While we look forward to an in-person conference, there is no higher priority than the safety and well-being of ADEA members and staff. Accordingly, we continue to monitor the status of the COVID-19 variants and their impact on the operational status of our ADEA Member Institutions. ADEA will implement health and safety protocols appropriate to the public health circumstances existing at the time of the conference.
Compliance with some or all the protocols adopted by ADEA will be mandatory for in-person attendance and participation at the conference by members, guests of members, sponsors, staff, etc. Additional information regarding the specific health and safety measures, and any necessary consents by you, will be communicated prior to the first day of the conference. Failure to adhere to or comply with the safety protocols in place may result in removal from the event and/or event premises.
CHILDCARE
If you plan to bring your family to New Orleans, we recommend that you arrange for childcare during meeting hours to ensure you can obtain the full benefits of participation in this event.
While ADEA does not provide childcare services for conference attendees or their families, here is a list of local childcare providers.
This list is provided for convenience only and should not be construed as an endorsement by ADEA or the vendor.
Registrants are responsible for all childcare costs and are asked to exercise the same due diligence in researching local childcare providers as they would when selecting childcare services at home. Registrants are also encouraged to contact their hotel for childcare recommendations.
LACTATION ROOM
A lactation room will be available for nursing conference attendees. The room is semi-private and accessible on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note the lactation room does not have refrigeration. ADEA will supply insulated lunch bags upon request.
Please visit the website in mid-January for more information and costs for portable refrigerators units. Nursing parents are encouraged to contact their hotel to request a refrigerator for medical purposes in their hotel room. Hotels will provide them free of charge for qualifying medical circumstances, including lactation. A week before the meeting, please check the program planner and/or mobile app for the lactation room location.
In the evenings when attendees explore the city, nursing parents are encouraged to download the free Mamava app, which is a “crowd sourced” listing of lactation rooms or pods in all major cities in the United States. The app includes pictures, street addresses for lactation rooms/pods and occupied/unoccupied designations. The Mamava app link is provided for convenience only. ADEA makes no guarantees or warrantees about the quality or safety of the service. Registrants should exercise due diligence in evaluating the app and its content.
