A critical and sometimes overwhelming component of the dental school application process is preparing for and taking the DAT (Dental Admission Test). Study preparation can take as long as three to four months. View our Study Tips for the Dental Admission Test (DAT).
All applicants must take the DAT, which includes the following six areas:
- Biology
- General Chemistry
- Organic Chemistry
- Reading Comprehension
- Perceptual Ability
- Quantitative Reasoning
Check out the
American Dental Association website for more detailed information about the DAT, including
sample test items, a
DAT tutorial, information on
fee waivers, and any changes to the cost of taking the test.
