Dr. Joskow, graduated with honors from Columbia University with dual degrees—D.D.S. and Master of Public Health. She completed a hospital-based General Practice Residency prior to being appointed as an Assistant Professor of Dentistry at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, and built a private practice in Manhattan. After many years in the private sector, Dr. Joskow completed a second residency and dental public health fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) before being commissioned in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) as Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She then was assigned to the Office of the Surgeon General, where she served as the Medical Readiness Manager/Director of Training and Education for the entire USPHS Commissioned Corps. Dr. Joskow’s subsequent assignments included Senior Medical Epidemiologist for the Department of Homeland Security, NIH Dental Research Officer and Program Official. In the beginning of 2012, she became the Chief Dental Officer for the Health Resources and Services Administration. She is board certified in Dental Public Health and a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, the International and American College of Dentists and the New York Academy of Dentist.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

 

Dr. Fleming, is a dental officer in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS). Currently she serves as a dental epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), overseeing the oral health component of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. She began her career in public health as a CDC Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer (Disease Detective).A native of Franklin, TN, Dr. Fleming received her undergraduate and doctoral training in Political Science at Vanderbilt University, her D.D.S. with a Health Policy Certificate from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Center at Meharry Medical College, her Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology from East Tennessee State University, and completed her dental public health residency at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine.Dr. Fleming also serves on the American Public Health Association Science Board and chairs the American Association of Public Health Dentistry Council on Practice. She is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Dental Public Health at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry.
