2021 ADEA Deans' Conference



The 2021 ADEA Deans’ Conference will be held as a virtual conference.


Come together to collaborate with your colleagues in academic dentistry this fall at the 2021 ADEA Deans’ Conference: Overcoming Resistance to Change, a series of three virtual, interactive and collaborative events on Nov. 5, 10, and 12, with the added opportunity to continue the conversation via ADEA Connect between sessions.


Registration for all livestream events is complimentary.

One constant in dental education and the world as we enter the post-pandemic era is the ongoing need for change and innovation. Yet, change evokes myriad emotions, including fear, often resulting in resistance to change. Dental education and the corporate worlds have experienced unimaginable levels of required change in the last year and a half. The 2021 ADEA Deans’ Conference will explore successful strategies to lead change, overcoming resistance to position an organization for the future.


The Bell Leadership Institute will lead the program, which will include sharing practical tools and techniques and the opportunity for attendees to create personal action plans to implement changes in their own organizations. The initial session will explore the dynamics of the laws of change and resistance, preparing participants for the second session, which will focus on practical methods for creating favorable conditions for true, lasting and sustainable change. The sessions are designed for high engagement, with break-out discussions and multiple opportunities for attendees to interact.


The final session is for deans only, who will embark on a discussion of the future of dental education as part of ADEA’s initiative on New Thinking for the New Century.


Participants in this year’s conference will come away with practical tools important for today while advancing new thinking and action for tomorrow.


The virtual sessions will be from:

  • 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, Nov. 5
  • 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, Nov. 10
  • 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, Nov. 12

Registration for all events is free.  


▷ How do I Register?

  1. Click the REGISTRATION button on the registration page.
    (NOTE: Registration covers access to programming for each event days.)
  2. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation email message.
  3. Upon completion of registration, you will be given an option to add this event to your calendar.

▷ How can I address registration issues/changes?

▷ I’m not a member. Can I participate?

No. This event is only open to ADEA members and registration is by invitation only.


▷ Can I register my colleagues for these events?

No. Group registration is not possible for these events. Individual registrations are required.


▷ Can I share my virtual conference login information with other members of my team?

For each individual registered to attend virtually, only one device (computer, laptop, tablet, phone) will be allowed to enter the virtual conference.

 

▷ How do I join the virtual event?

To join the live event, please click the “Access Virtual Event” button found in your registration confirmation or event reminder email.

▷ Are CE credits available for these sessions? If so, how can I obtain CE credits?

The American Dental Education Association is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. Continuing education credit is awarded for participation in individual designated educational sessions and not for overall 2021 ADEA Deans’ Conference attendance.


To receive CE credit, please complete the evaluation process for all eligible attended sessions.

A link to the conference evaluation will be distributed the next business day after each of the three sessions on the following days :

  • Monday, Nov. 8,
  • Thursday, Nov, 11 and
  • Monday, Nov. 15.


The deadline to complete the evaluation will be three weeks after their distribution on the following days at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time:

  • Monday, Nov. 29,
  • Thursday, Dec. 2 and
  • Monday, Dec. 6.
