H.B. 2235 was signed into law on May 16 by Republican
Governor Doug Ducey of Arizona. This adds another state to the growing list of states
planning to license dental therapists. After the Arizona House of
Representatives voted 47-13 to pass the bill, the Senate unanimously approved
it, making Arizona
one of seven states that now authorizes dental therapists in some capacity. A
dozen additional states are considering similar measures.
