ADEA’s Access, Diversity and Inclusion (ADI) portfolio, in collaboration with the ADEA Division of Education Pathways, has begun conducting a new series of admissions workshops. The first workshop was recently held at the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine (UPR SDM) on February 24, 2014.

ADEA is proud to announce that the Fifth International Women’s Leadership Conference will take place September 14-16, 2014 in Barcelona, Spain. Additionally, ADEA has partnered with the Colgate-Palmolive Co. to offer participants scholarships for travel-related costs for those who otherwise would be unable to attend the conference. Logistics for this conference are being coordinated by the ADEA Access, Diversity and Inclusion (ADI) portfolio. The conference will focus on identifying and showcasing women in leadership, with a global discourse emphasis.

Following the sunset of the American Dental Association’s Student Ambassador Program in December 2012, ADEA’s Access, Diversity, and Inclusion portfolio initiated plans to expand student engagement and diversity efforts.

Last year, ADEA partnered with University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry to launch the Dental Pipeline National Learning Institute (NLI), a project of the Robert Woods Johnson Foundation. The project is an opportunity for dental educators and their community partners to address the problems of access and workforce disparities.
