Volunteers from the dental and audiology programs at University of the Pacific stepped up to serve Bay Area military veterans in advance of Veterans Day by hosting a free health event in San Francisco.
The
Nov. 10 event offered veterans and active military members free dental checkups, hearing screenings, COVID-19 vaccine boosters, health gift goody bags and refreshments. Attendees also had opportunities to meet and socialize with students and faculty from the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and
Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy. Both schools operate clinics that are open to the public at University of the Pacific’s San Francisco Campus. Learn more about the dental clinic
here.
The Dugoni School of Dentistry regularly participates in community outreach activities that serve people across the Bay Area. Recent events have included the Chinatown Community Health Fair and outreach to children and families in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood.
The school’s volunteers have also resumed international global outreach, including a recent
trip to Jamaica in October to provide oral health care to children and adults.
