Hunt School of Dental Medicine Partners With AI Company, VELMENI

In a landmark collaboration aimed at reshaping dental education, the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine (Hunt School of Dental Medicine) has entered into a pioneering partnership with VELMENI, one of the leading artificial intelligence (AI) companies. Spearheaded by Dean Richard C. Black, D.D.S., M.S., and Robert Danforth, D.D.S., Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, this alliance seeks to revolutionize student learning experiences and advance early diagnosis capabilities in dental care.

VELMENI, renowned for its expertise in AI-driven health care solutions, will provide the Hunt School of Dental Medicine with cutting-edge AI platforms tailored for dental applications. These platforms are designed to analyze extensive datasets, simulate clinical scenarios and facilitate early detection of dental diseases through both 2D and 3D imaging. This integration promises not only to enhance diagnostic accuracy but also to streamline treatment planning and improve patient care. Mini Suri, M.B.A., the CEO of VELMENI, is positive the collaboration with her company at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Office of Research, and Wendy Woodall, D.D.S., MAGD, Vice President of Academic Affairs at the Hunt School of Dental Medicine, expressed their enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership with VELMENI signifies a pivotal moment for our institution and the future of dental education.
