The ADEA Survey of U.S. Dental School Seniors, 2021 Graduating Class, opened on March 18. The survey was sent to designated dental school representatives who distributed it to graduating students.
Each year, ADEA surveys U.S. senior dental students to gather information about their education and future plans. The information gathered is important, perhaps even more so in this unprecedented situation with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Student participation in the ADEA survey is important for dental schools to:

  • Learn about graduating students’ dental school experiences.
  • See how the 2021 class compares with previous graduating classes.
  • Plan more effectively for and serve future students.

You can find the report, “Dentists of Tomorrow 2020: An Analysis of the Results of the 2020 ADEA Survey of U.S. Dental School Seniors,” at adea.org/Seniors2020. Members can read a summary report on the ADEA website, available for download and print, but also as an online storyboard with the charts available in interactive format. ADEA members can access the full report in the March 2021 issue of the Journal of Dental Education. Finally, members can access the aggregate data behind the research through the ADEA Senior Student Dashboard, an interactive, online tool available through ADEA.org/Seniors2020.

ADEA will keep the survey open through June 18, 2021. For any questions related to the survey contact the ADEA Office of Policy and Education Research team at adeadata@adea.org.
