I will be committed to uphold the ABO’s strategic objectives while adapting to the evolving needs of our wonderful profession through devotion to
promoting the highest standard of care and excellence in orthodontics.”
Dr. McCullough, who has served as an ABO Director representing SWSO since 2019, operated a private practice in orthodontics in Yukon, OK, until his retirement in 2020. He currently is a Clinical Professor and Graduate Program Director in the Department of

About
the ABO
The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) is the global leader in orthodontic board certification and sets the standards of care for excellence in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. The ABO’s mission is to elevate the quality of orthodontic care for the public by promoting excellence through certification,
education and professional collaboration. Founded in 1929 as the first specialty board in dentistry, the ABO is partnered with the American Association of Orthodontists and is recognized by the National Commission on Recognition of Dental Specialties and Certifying Boards as the national
certifying board for orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. To learn more, visit

The certificate issued by the
ABO signifies a certification of attainment. It does not confer any legal
qualification, privilege, or license to practice orthodontics. It is not a
professional or academic degree. In essence, board certification is a process
by which an individual orthodontist is voluntarily examined by his/her peers as
to orthodontic knowledge and clinical skills. The successful completion of the
examination process is a demonstration to the dental profession and the general
public of the orthodontist's pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence in
orthodontics.
