Funding
opportunities exist throughout the federal government for academic and
practicing dentists. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural
Business-Cooperative Service is inviting applications for its Delta
Health Care Services Grant Program. The program’s objective is to
provide financial assistance to address the unmet health needs in the Delta
Region through cooperation in a consortium of academic health and research
institutions that specifically include allied health programs and dentistry,
regional institutions of higher education, and/or economic development entities.
The Delta Region is comprised of Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky,
Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. Grants are awarded on a
competitive basis with a maximum award amount per grant of $1 million.
