ACA2018The Federal Health Insurance Exchange (the Marketplace) Open Enrollment period runs from Nov. 1 to Dec. 15 for coverage starting Jan. 1, 2019. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is using consumer feedback to drive ongoing improvements across the Exchange platform. Consumers can visit HealthCare.gov or CuidadoDeSalud.gov to preview 2019 plans and prices before Open Enrollment begins. Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), dental insurance is different for adults and children 18 and under. Dental coverage is an essential health benefit for children under 18, but insurers do not have to offer dental coverage for adults. Dental coverage is included in some Marketplace health plans but not all. If a health plan includes dental, the premium covers both health and dental coverage. In some cases, separate stand-alone plans are offered.
