SB 622 provides that on or after July 1, the Department of Healthcare
and Family Services must provide dental services, including prevention and
treatment of periodontal disease and dental caries disease. Dental services are
defined in the bill as “diagnostic, preventative, or corrective procedures
provided by or under the supervision of a dentist in the practice of his or her
profession.” The bill, according to staff in the Office of the Secretary
of the Senate, will be placed on the Senate calendar for a third reading, but
no date has been set.
