Don’t miss the 2021 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition—dental education’s premier professional development and networking event—March 13-16. For the first time in ADEA’s history, the Annual Session will be an all-virtual event! ADEA has made this change because of the health risks, economic hardships and logistical complications brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition has a number of new features designed to maximize your conference experience.

Here are a few:

 Virtual Networking

Attendees will automatically be opted-in for the conference artificial intelligence (AI) matching feature. This feature allows you to connect with colleagues, sponsors or exhibitors based on a predetermined set of criteria.

Starting Feb. 26, attendees can access the pre-event website to update their matching preferences or to opt out of this networking feature.

  Focused Time

To make conference time more productive, ADEA Sections and Special Interest Group members’ forums have all been moved to the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday immediately before the start of the conference.

All educational content is scheduled for Sunday, March 14 – Tuesday, March 16.

  Chat Box Downloads

Nearly a year into the virtual conference experience, ADEA’s members have requested access to the rich peer advice and resource materials found in session chats.

After the conference, attendees will receive access to the chat box content.

The list of exhibitors will be available on the Virtual Event Platform. (Log in is required)

The ADEA House of Delegates is ADEA’s governing body.

The House of Delegates consists of the ADEA Board of Directors and all or some members of the Association’s seven councils, and convenes twice at each ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition.

At the ADEA House of Delegates booth, each delegate (or alternate) will receive three cards: one for admission to the Opening Session, one for admission to the Closing Session and one ballot for Chair-elect of the ADEA Board of Directors if an election is required.

Each delegate and alternate will surrender the signed, appropriate card when entering the floor for the Opening and Closing Sessions. Any delegates or alternates who misplace their admission or voting cards should immediately report the loss to staff in the Association’s registration area.

All registrants will receive an email notification from ADEA’s conference vendor, Streampoint, with your login credentials prior to the first day of the event.

You can login with your credentials as early as March 9, 2021. You can use your credentials to access the event on all days.

If you missed any days, don’t worry! All registrants will have on-demand access to any session for 60 days following the event

Most of our sessions will be pre-recorded and will be available to view at your convenience through the conference platform after they air the first time according to the schedule.

Live sessions will be recorded and will also be available on the platform.

All conference sessions will be available on-demand for 60 days after the conference ends. This gives you significant flexibility to watch sessions later if you have a limited amount of time during the live conference days and want to use that time to engage in the live interactive portions of the event.

We expect to update the agenda with a detailed schedule of live events in the weeks closer to the event, and we will send a notification once available.

If you are able, we encourage you to set aside these three days as if you were attending an in-person event. This will allow you to watch many sessions and participate in the networking and marketplace activities, including the many prize drawings.

Knowing that many have work and/or other obligations, you can relax knowing that if you miss a session, all sessions will eventually be added to our on-demand library, accessible up to 60 days after the event.

Yes. For 60 days following the conference, all session materials will be available for download through our attendees-only presentations page.

Each session you watch on the platform will show the presentation along with the speakers; however, all content on the platform is not downloadable and will remain secure and only accessible through the single sign-on login.

No. While PPT and supplement materials will be available to download up to 60 days after the event, individuals are not permitted to download or share conference recordings/sessions of any kind that are accessed via the platform.

This event is a single sign-on/no group sharing of content, meaning your registration is just like a conference badge at an in-person conference.

The conference is a single sign-on experience and intended only for individuals.

Each registration is for a single person, and the content can't be exported out of the platform for a shared experience. Only registered attendees will be eligible for CE credits.

All schedules or session listings for the 2021 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibit are in Eastern Time

  1. Attendees will be able to view profiles, request and accept meetings, and chat one-on-one with exhibitors and other attendees.

  2. Attendees can join virtual meeting rooms or in-person meeting rooms, depending on the event setup.

  3. Attendees can easily manage their one-on-one meetings in the event calendar.

Tips for Attendees

  • To get the best recommendations for people to meet and increase the chance that they accept your meeting invitations, make sure to complete your profile: Add a profile image, fill out your summary, and select your preferences in the event-specific questions.

  • Besides requesting meetings, mark attendees and exhibitors as “interested” to start networking! The person or company you’re interested in can request a meeting if they are also interested in meeting with you.

  • If you want to talk before committing to a meeting, you can also message exhibitors and attendees directly.

Yes. You will earn credit hours by attending education sessions in their entirety and completing the evaluation process for those sessions.

Please refer to individual education session descriptions for detailed information. ADEA will process CE evaluations through a CE verification form, or attendees may use the mobile app or online program planner.

The deadline to complete the evaluation process and print a PDF of your CE verification form is April 30, 2021. The evaluation process is electronic only. ADEA cannot provide or reproduce CE verification forms after the deadline.

Questions concerning the CE evaluation process or printing and saving CE verification forms, or an ADEA SoTLfest certificate, may be directed to support@ConferenceHarvester.com or 410-638-9239.

No plug-in is required to access the platform and content. An up-to-date web browser is the only requirement.

A webcam also is not required and attendees can experience the platform in an audio-only format. The platform is accessible on a mobile device and will resize to that experience in addition to the standard web browser view.

Additional Troubleshooting Tips

  • Ensure you have a supported browser.
  • Check your internet speed to make sure your internet is fast enough for smooth playback. We recommend a minimum internet download speed of 1.5mbps for video-on-demand content and 4mbps for live event content.
  • Disable ad-blockers or other browser extensions that may interfere with the page.
  • “Hard refresh” the page. This is done by pressing the “Ctrl-F5” keys on Windows or “Cmd-Shift-R” on Mac.
  • Close all instances of your browser then relaunch the browser and try again.
  • Clear your browser cache.
  • If problems persist, reach out to us at MCET@adea.org.

Several issues could result in slow or interrupted video playback. In general, if you’re connecting over Wi-Fi and experiencing constant rebuffering or other issues during playback, try moving your router to another location and away from other devices that may cause electrical interference.

Recommendations

  • Move your wireless router to a more central location of your home.
  • Move your wireless router to an elevated surface, such as a desk or on top of a bookshelf.
  • Clear clutter from the vicinity of your wireless router.
  • Use a hardline internet connection if available.
