Dr. Thomas F. Since 1994, ADEA has promoted the advancement of women in dental education by providing the opportunity for a full-time woman faculty member with a primary teaching appointment in a predoctoral, or an advanced dental education program, to explore issues affecting women faculty through a three-month scholar-in-residence program.The program honors Enid A. Neidle, former President of ADEA (1985-86). Under her leadership, ADEA adopted its policy of promoting the advancement of women in dental education.

The ADEA/Sigma Phi Alpha Linda DeVore Scholarship is awarded to an individual pursuing allied dental education studies at the baccalaureate, master’s or doctoral degree level. The scholarship memorializes the 30-year dental education career of Linda Rubinstein DeVore. Prof. DeVore was active in dental hygiene education, scholarship and public service. She served as President of the American Association of Dental Schools (now ADEA) in 1994 and as the 1997-98 President of the Supreme Chapter of Sigma Phi Alpha, the national honorary society of the dental hygiene profession.
