The annual AAMC Graduation Questionnaire is divided into two sections. The GQ Program Evaluation Survey asks medical students about:
-
medical school experiences
-
student support programs
-
potential problems, including mistreatment, and
-
general demographic questions.
Part two is the GQ Student Survey on Priorities in Medical Education. This section provides insights into what medical students think about:
- Diversity
- Career aspirations
- Indebtedness, including educational and non-educational debt
- Specialty choice, and
- The cultural environment in medical school.
Results from the 2009 survey suggest that educational debt levels, which rose dramatically over the past ten years, are beginning to level off due to reductions in tuition increases and tuition freezes by some medical schools.
