Grant Funded Projects

Moving Forward: Bridging the Gap (BTG)

The Moving Forward: Bridging the Gap (BTG) is funded by the Josiah Macy, Jr. Foundation in the amount of $550,457.  The BTG is a planning grant that will implement a flexible seven-year dental curriculum, modeled after one currently used in medicine, to prepare a new cadre of URM/LI students for the practice of dentistry. Institutions in three states will participate in the 18-month project: New York, New Mexico, and Georgia. ADEA will serve as the host organization and work in conjunction with leadership from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, the University of New Mexico, and the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in collaboration with the Atlanta University Center.

California Dental Pipeline Program Phase II (CIIP) Evaluation

The California Dental Pipeline Program Phase II (CIIP) Evaluation funded by the California Endowment in the amount of $390,000.  The CIIP grant, the second phase of the California Pipeline program, addresses needs identified during the conduct of the first phase, including community-based education, cultural competency, underrepresented minority and low-income (URM/LI) recruitment, and health policy. Grant activities are taking place at five California dental schools. ADEA will serve as evaluators of the 3-year program.
