This interactive map provides current information on state legislation of interest to academic dentistry for all fifty states and the District of Columbia (Puerto Rico will be added to the map later this year). The map will allow users to:
- View the current status of bills,
- View upcoming hearing dates, and
- View current bill text and bill author/sponsor information.
Using the dropdown menu below, users may view state legislation pertaining to selected topics.
The map below utilizes an Adobe Flash add-on. If you do not see the map, it is an indication that the Adobe Flash add-on may be disabled on your computer. It is recommended that you choose another browser, e.g. Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox, Internet Explorer 10 (Windows 8), Internet Explorer 11 (Windows 8.1) or consider updating your version of the add-on before re-activating it.
The information on the map will be automatically updated daily. As new bills relevant to academic dentistry are introduced, the bills will be added to the map. This compilation provides a nation-wide perspective on issues of interest—and will serve as a useful tool for keeping abreast of legislation of interest in your state.
- There are several states that will not have a Regular 2014 Legislative Session, and as a result, those state links on the map are inactive.
- On or shortly after January 1, 2015, the map will be refreshed. All legislation for the
calendar year 2014 session and the 2013–2014 session will be removed, unless
the final governor action has not been completed or the state allows carryover
bills (measures that were not final enacted during the last session or year but
may be carried over to the next session for consideration). However, newly
filed and introduced legislation for the 2015 session will remain on the map.
Of course, as new bills relevant to academic dentistry are introduced, the
bills will be added to the map.
