Program Highlights
All ADEA Fall Meetings participants come together to benefit
from networking and notable speakers:
On Thursday, October 22, it's "Welcome to the Digital
Immigration Service," where Dr. Jack L. Long, Associate Dean for
Student Affairs at the Baylor College of Dentistry, and a panel of
students, will offer you a tour of a new world. The students,
"digital natives" who grew up with technology, will demonstrate how
you can use technology for both educational and personal
benefit.
On Friday, October 23, engage in today's hottest issue, "Oral
Health Care Reform," as ADEA explores different approaches for
building consensus among stakeholders with legitimate interests in
tackling the major stumbling blocks of reform as well as ways to
ensure the oral health needs of all Americans are met.
Saturday, October 24, features two stimulating plenaries.
Over breakfast, learn more about curricular change in the Plenary
on the ADEA Commission on Change and Innovation in Dental Education
(ADEA CCI).
Next up, "Is an Academic Career for Me?" This interactive
examination of career choices includes a diverse panel of faculty
members and student moderators discussing obstacles and
opportunities, the findings of a survey measuring student attitudes
toward faculty careers, and Q&A for the panel based on the
results of the survey. The audience will also ask questions, make
comments, and participate via the electronic Audience Response
System.
