2017 ADEA/AAL Chairs and Academic Administrators Management Program (CAAMP)

New, current, and aspiring administrative leaders learn the tools for effective academic management, team performance and interpersonal relations, and experience personal development through assessment tools and one-on-one coaching with a CAAMP instructor.
Devoted to helping you grow professionally and personally, CAAMP is appropriate for all new, current and aspiring administrators, from program directors to deans.
CAAMP is a 3-day program devoted to teaching you the leadership and management skills needed for every administrative level, from department chair to dean. You will receive assessments that provide insights about your personality, behaviors, prevalent leadership style and your preferred method for dealing with conflict. In addition, you will receive one-on-one career coaching with a CAAMP instructor. During the program, you will create a career action plan to expand and augment your strengths and set achievable goals for advancement. Through group discussions, case studies, role-playing, interactive exercises, presentations and leadership roundtable discussions you will learn to excel at the following:
- Learning to lead.
- Strategic planning and execution.
- Academic legal issues.
- Building high performance teams.
- Professional assessment of leadership competencies.
- Communication skills and interpersonal interactions.
- Budgeting and fiscal planning.
- Managing across generational/gender/cultural differences.
- Conflict management.
- Faculty development.
- Work-life balance and time management.

Discounts are available for institutions that send three or more individuals to CAAMP. Institutions receive the 10% discount off of $2,195 regular tuition when the following occurs:
- Notification of the intent to send multiple faculty is received in advance so AAL can provide the appropriate discount code.
- If the institution is paying, multiple attendees register at the same time indicating payment by the same institutional check, purchase order or credit card.
- If each participant is paying individually, multiple attendees register at the same time and the discount will be divided evenly between the participants.

Hotel and Travel Information:
Participants or their institutions are responsible for lodging and transportation expenses. AAL has negotiated a special rate of $165 + taxes/fees at the Emory Conference Center. The hotel booking deadline is July 14, 2017.
Upon registration, out-of-town participants will receive access to an online hotel booking system and will receive recommendations about ground transportation to and from the airport. The Emory Conference Center also offers secure, onsite parking for a daily fee.
The American Dental Education Association is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or
instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry.
ADEA designates the CAAMP program for 25 continuing education credits. This continuing education activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the standards of the ADA Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP) through joint efforts between American Dental Education Association (ADEA) and the Academy for Academic Leadership (AAL).
