NEW Program Participation

Program directors can register their advanced dental education programs with ADEA PASS by completing the New Program Participation Form. There is no cost for programs to participate in ADEA PASS. For additional assistance in joining, contact an ADEA PASS representative:

ADEA PASS is the centralized application service for nearly 560 participating advanced dental education programs. The ADEA PASS application is available to all individuals applying to all participating advanced dental education programs. ADEA PASS simplifies the application process by permitting the applicant to submit a single application that is distributed to the programs the applicant selects, thus relieving applicants of the need to complete multiple applications to multiple programs. The standard ADEA PASS application consists of an online application that includes an applicant-composed essay plus a two-page curriculum vitae, Professional Evaluations submitted on the applicant’s behalf, an Institution Evaluation from the dean of the applicant’s dental school, and the applicant’s official dental school transcript.

ADEA PASS serves only as an information clearinghouse and does not influence programs’ appraisal or selection of applicants. Each advanced dental education program has the right to request supplemental information from its applicants. However, ADEA PASS provides postdoctoral programs with a service that eliminates the need to request redundant materials from applicants. ADEA PASS currently processes applications for these program disciplines:

PROGRAM DIRECTORS PORTAL

The 2010 Program Directors Portal contains your actual applicant data for the 2010 PASS application cycle and allows you to access applicant information online. When you access the PASS Program Directors Portal, you will be able to:

• View and print applicant information online as soon as applications are complete. You will no longer have to wait for mailed applications to identify and initiate contact with applicants to your program. As in the past, your program will continue to receive printed applications in folders.
• View information about applicants to your programs with incomplete applications. Traditionally, ADEA PASS mails only completed applications to programs. We know it is important to many program directors to identify and initiate contact with applicants in their pipelines. Using the new portal, you can review academic information for and initiate contact with those who have not yet completed their applications.
• Assign categories (the Local Status) that you create to assist you in the management of your applicant pool. You can then search your applicants by the Local Status category or by any other criteria listed on the search page.
• Download applicant data into a Microsoft Access file after a mailing has been generated.
• Download the Cumulative Roster for each mailing into an Excel spreadsheet.

PASS Program Search Engine

ADEA PASS connects prospective applicants to every participating residency program through the PASS Program Search Engine. Prospective applicants may use the search engine to identify programs by discipline and/or by state.

Programs can maximize their benefit from the PASS Program Search Engine by:

• Placing a targeted recruitment webpage, or landing page link in your PASS Program Search Engine entry
• Indicating an ADEA PASS application deadline and processing calendar; this gives programs complete control over when they receive applicants’ materials and informs applicants how applications are evaluated and what is required of interviewees
• Providing predictability and stability to the resident recruitment process

User Agreement

This agreement authorizes your display of the ADEA PASS logo in conjunction with a link to the ADEA PASS search engine. The ADEA PASS logo is the property of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA), which is not liable for any direct, indirect, special, or consequential damages arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the logo.

You are not authorized to copy, reproduce, republish, modify, upload, post, transmit, or distribute in any way the ADEA PASS logo, any content of the ADEA PASS search engine or any other ADEA website. Modification of any of these materials or their use for any other purpose is a violation of ADEA’s proprietary and other legal rights.

ADEA reserves and you acknowledge our right to withdraw this authorization at any time, with or without cause. In the event of such a withdrawal, you agree to immediately cease the use of the ADEA PASS logo. All rights at law and equity are reserved in the event of unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of the ADEA PASS logo or any content of the ADEA PASS search engine or any other ADEA website.
