Deadline Questions

Q: What is an ADEA AADSAS deadline?

A: An ADEA AADSAS deadline is the date designated by each dental school by which your ADEA AADSAS application, official transcripts, and fee payment must be submitted to ADEA AADSAS to be considered for admission to your designated school(s). If your application, fee payment and all official transcripts have been received at ADEA AADSAS by that school's ADEA AADSAS deadline date, your application will be processed and sent to your designated schools.

If letters of evaluation (LOE's) are received after the deadline date, each LOE will be sent to designated schools in the next mailing. ADEA AADSAS is not responsible for the receipt of delayed LOE's.

All ADEA AADSAS application deadline dates expire at 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on the specified date.

Q: What happens if my transcript arrives after my designated dental school's ADEA AADSAS deadline? Will ADEA AADSAS process my application?

A: ADEA AADSAS strongly recommends that you submit all transcripts, application and fee payments well in advance of the ADEA AADSAS deadlines of your dental schools. ADEA AADSAS will process your application if your application and fee are submitted by the deadline. If your transcripts are received after the deadline, ADEA AADSAS will still send your application to your designated school. However, it is the school's decision whether they choose to consider your application. Be sure to request transcripts well in advance of deadlines.

Q: If I am extended an offer of admission to dental school, how long do I have to accept or decline that offer?

A: Most U.S. and Canadian dental schools adhere to ADEA guidelines regarding the timing of offers of admission. Admission offers can be extended, starting December 1 for the following year's entering class. Individuals accepted between December 1 and January 31 have 30 days to accept or decline an offer of admission; those accepted after February 1 have 15 days to respond. The response period may be lifted after May 15 of the year of matriculation.
