Q: I have a dental degree from outside a dental school outside the U.S. and Canada. Should I apply through ADEA AADSAS?
A: ADEA AADSAS process applications from individuals who have earned dental degrees outside of U.S./Canada, if their intention is to enroll into a full-time pre-doctoral course of study at a U.S. or Canadian dental school.
Individuals seeking to participate in an Advanced Standing Program for graduates of dental schools outside the U.S./Canada should apply to those programs through ADEA's Centralized Application for Advanced Placement International Dentists, CAAPID. Go to ADEA CAAPID to see participating Advance Standing Programs. A complete list of Advanced Standing programs-including those that do not participate in CAAPID-plus other valuable information for international dentists seeking to practice in the U.S. can be obtained from the American Dental Association at: www.ada.org/prof/prac/licensure/us.asp.
Q: Can I forward ADEA AADSAS my transcripts and letters of evaluation before the start of the application cycle?
A: ADEA AADSAS strongly discourages applicants from forwarding transcripts and letters of evaluation to ADEA AADSAS before June 3rd, the starting time of the application cycle. As soon as the application cycle begins, create an ADEA AADSAS account. As part of the application, you will be directed to print the Transcript Matching Form and Letters of Evaluation Matching Form (if your transcripts and letters will be sent to ADEA AADSAS in paper format). Make sure these forms are attached to your official transcripts and letters of Evaluation to assure they are correctly matched to your ADEA AADSAS application.
ADEA AADSAS does not provide assurance that transcripts and letters of evaluation received before the start of the application cycle can be matched to your application.
Q: What else do I need to submit beside my ADEA AADSAS online application to complete my application?
A: In addition to eSubmitting your ADEA AADSAS application, you must submit payment, and one official transcript from every college/university you have attended. Application processing cannot begin until these items are received by ADEA AADSAS. (Letters of Evaluation are also accepted through ADEA AADSAS, but does not hold up the processing of your application; letters received after your application has been sent to your designated dental schools are forwarded to those schools after receipt by ADEA AADSAS.)
After your designated dental schools receive your ADEA AADSAS application, additional information may be requested by your designated schools. To identify additional information required by your designated dental schools, go to the "Dental School Designations" section, click "Update Designations", and click the "Supplemental Info" link next to each school.
