Q: Do I need to print out the ADEA AADSAS application if I am submitting it electronically?

A: All applicants are strongly encouraged to print a copy of their application for personal records. The application print option is listed in the “My Tools” menu section of your ADEA AADSAS application.

Do not send printed copies of your application to ADEA AADSAS. 

Q: I forgot or was unable to print a copy of my application. Do I still have access to view it online? Can I print a copy later?

A: Yes. After you have submitted your ADEA AADSAS application, you can go online to view and/or print a copy of your application. 

Q: Where can I find out if a school that I am interested in applying to participates in ADEA AADSAS?

A: The list of ADEA AADSAS participating dental schools is listed on the ADEA AADSAS Application logon page under "Participating Dental Schools". 

Q: What is the DENTPIN®?

A: The DENTPIN® is a unique identification number assigned to all applicants and students in dental education and standardized testing programs.  You may have obtained a DENTPIN® when you registered for the DAT.  If not, you will be prompted to register for a DENTPIN® when you create your 2011 ADEA AADSAS application.  Your DENTPIN® will follow you throughout your dental education career and will be required to register for future examinations. 

Q: How do I register for the DENTPIN®?

A:  To register for a DENTPIN® or to look up your current DENTPIN®, go to: www.ada.org/goto/dentpin

Q: How do I change my username/password?

A: To change your username or password: Logon to your ADEA AADSAS application,

  • Go to "My Profile" in the upper left corner of your application checklist,
  • Select "Account Information" and change your information,
  • Click on "Save" at the bottom of the page.

Q: What if I forget my password?

A: If you forget your password:

  • Go to the ADEA AADSAS application log-in page,
  • In the left corner under “Forgot your Password”, enter your e-mail address,
  • You will be prompted to answer the security question you selected when you first created your account.

Your Username and password will be sent to your e-mail address. The e-mail address must match the one listed on your ADEA AADSAS application for this to occur.

Q: How can I change my email address?

A: To change your e-mail address:

  • Log into your ADEA AADSAS application,
  • Go to "My Profile" in the upper left corner of your application checklist,
  • Select "Account Information" and change your information,
  • Click on "Save" at the bottom of the page.

Q: I have eSubmitted my application, but would like to edit some information. What do I do?

A: Most sections in the ADEA AADSAS application cannot be updated after eSubmitting. The sections that can be revised are listed below:

  • Biographic Information
  • Canadian DAT Scores
  • Evaluators

Sections that cannot be updated after submission are:

  • Parent and Family Information
  • Background Information
  • Secondary School Information
  • Disadvantaged Status
  • Colleges Attended
  • Coursework (unless instructed to do so by a Transcript Verification Department staff member)
  • Professional Experience
      • Academic Enrichment Programs
      • Dentistry Experience; Extracurricular
      • Volunteer, Community Service
      • Leadership Activities
      • Work Experience
      • Research Experience
      • Awards, Honors, Scholarships
  • Personal Statement
  • Release Statements

Applicants are no longer eligible for the Fee Assistance Program (FAP) once they eSubmit their application.

Starting in mid-November 2010, a window of time (Academic Update) will be available for you to update any coursework and grade information in the Courses Planned/In Progress section. An email will be sent to you 30 days prior to the opening of this window and will provide specific information about this process. 

Q: How do I update my Courses Planned/In Progress after I have submitted my application to ADEA AADSAS?

A: Starting mid-November 2010, a window of time (Academic Update) will be available for you to update any coursework and grade information in the Courses Planned/In Progress section. An email will be sent to you 30 days prior to the opening of this window and will provide specific information about this process. This is the only opportunity you will have to provide updated course and grade information after submitting your ADEA AADSAS application. 

Q: Can I apply to additional dental schools after I submit my ADEA AADSAS application?

A: Yes. To do so:

  • Log into your ADEA AADSAS application
  • Select "Dental School Designations"
  • Select the additional dental schools to which you wish to have your ADEA AADSAS application sent
  • Click on the "Save" button at the top of the page
  • Instructions will appear for submitting payment

The fee for applying to additional dental schools is $72.
