 ADEA Curriculum Resource Center

Soon, ADEA will launch a new state-of-the-art web portal for faculty and students to access timely research and the latest dental educational resources. The ADEA Curriculum Resource Center (ADEA CRC) will be a free benefit to ADEA members.

Several resource guideline modules are under development, sponsored by unrestricted educational grants from the Colgate-Palmolive Co., GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare and The Procter & Gamble Company.

These modules will focus on biofilm, the oral-systemic connection, dentin hypersensitivity, erosion and tooth wear, and dental caries. Generally, each module will consist of seven components, including the curriculum guide library, course assignments, image gallery, resource library, case studies, handouts, and advisory board recognition. The modules are intended to augment current curricula with comprehensive educational resources dedicated to effective knowledge transfer in predoctoral dental education programs.

In the past, ADEA has created educational modules as CD-ROMs and booklets. This new online tool will allow ADEA to continue providing the best resources in a more flexible, reproducible, and scalable format, accommodating the changing needs and technology use of faculty and students. ADEA will continue to work with complementary educational endeavors such as MedEdPORTAL.

As we near the launch of the ADEA CRC, updates will appear here and in the Bulletin of Dental Education Online.
