2013 Program Highlights
Many dental schools are viewing themselves as if they are corporations and applying management techniques such as value streaming and lean process improvement. This shift in view is new to most dental educators and is resulting in major changes requiring “buy in” from this traditional work force. Change is inevitable, and today’s educators must embrace rapid change in areas such as technology, the economy, and student and patient demographics. To remain on the forefront of dental education, schools are committed to making difficult changes in their academic cultures to re-envision what it means to provide a contemporary education for the dentist of the future.
During the conference attendees will explore and identify the changes they are experiencing at their home institutions and walk away with identified practices on how to embrace those changes.
